I walked through the crowd,
in a hurry, and irritated.
Visibly angry, they moved slowly.
Then, I saw her.
She had a cane and needed help.
I slammed the door into her,
but she somehow made it through.
I hit her hard and the cane
turned into a large blue
tulip.
I yelled out obscenities;
she was shocked
and upset. Who would do
something so mean?
Me. My father’s daughter.
His eyes revealed the truth
as I caught them.
He loved me
in the same instant that
I hated everyone.
Ashamed, I ran away.
